In detail

What each treatment involves

A plain-language look at every service we offer, what the appointment is actually like, and how much time to set aside.

15–30 min

General Check-up & Consultation

A check-up is the right place to start if you are new to the clinic or it has simply been a while. We look over your teeth and gums, talk through anything that is bothering you, and explain what we find in plain language. If treatment is needed you will get a clear idea of what it involves and what it costs before anything is booked. Children are welcome too, and we keep first visits short and unhurried so they stay comfortable. Many patients in Caloocan come in for a consultation first, then decide on cleaning, fillings or braces afterwards. Nothing is pushed on you during the visit.

15–30 min

Oral Prophylaxis (Teeth Cleaning)

Oral prophylaxis is the professional cleaning most people simply call teeth cleaning. Brushing and flossing cannot reach hardened tartar along the gumline, so it builds up quietly over months. During the visit we clear plaque and tartar from the tooth surfaces and around the gums, then polish so the surface stays smooth for longer. If your gums bleed when you brush, or you notice staining from coffee and tobacco, a cleaning is usually the first thing to book. Most appointments take between fifteen and thirty minutes. We will also show you the spots your brushing tends to miss, which makes the next six months easier.

15–30 min

Tooth Restoration (Pasta)

Tooth restoration is what most patients here call pasta. When a cavity or a chip has damaged part of a tooth, we clean out the decayed area and rebuild the missing shape with a tooth colored composite filling. The material is matched to the shade of your own tooth, so the repair is not obvious when you smile or talk. Most single fillings are done in one visit of fifteen to thirty minutes. Catching a cavity at this stage is usually simpler and cheaper than waiting until the tooth needs a crown or root canal, which is why we check for early decay at every consultation.

15–30 min

Tooth Extraction

Sometimes a tooth is too damaged or decayed to save, and removing it is the straightforward answer. We take an x-ray first so there are no surprises, numb the area properly, and take the tooth out. Most extractions are over in fifteen to thirty minutes, and the numbness rather than the procedure is what most people remember afterwards. You will go home with clear aftercare instructions covering what to eat, how to keep the area clean, and what normal healing looks like over the following days. If you are anxious about having a tooth pulled, say so when you book and we will take it slowly.

30–60 min

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the last molars to come through, usually in the late teens or twenties, and there is often not enough room left for them. When a wisdom tooth is impacted, pushing against the tooth beside it, or causing repeated swelling at the back of the jaw, removal is normally recommended. We take a panoramic x-ray first to see the root position and how the tooth is sitting, then plan the removal around that. Wisdom tooth extraction is booked with a longer slot of thirty to sixty minutes so nothing is rushed. Aftercare instructions cover swelling, eating and keeping the site clean while it heals.

45 min

Teeth Whitening

In-clinic whitening lifts the shade of your natural teeth in a single appointment of around forty five minutes. It works on the staining that builds up over years from coffee, tea, red wine and smoking, and the change is usually visible the same day. We check first that your teeth and gums are in good condition, since whitening sits better on a clean surface, so a cleaning is sometimes booked beforehand. Results vary from person to person depending on your starting shade and the type of staining. Whitening does not change the color of existing crowns, veneers or fillings, which is worth knowing if you already have work on your front teeth.

~15 min

Dental Crowns (Emax / Zirconia)

A crown covers a tooth that is too broken down for a filling, holding what is left together and restoring the shape you chew with. We use Emax and Zirconia, both strong enough for everyday use and close enough in appearance to your own enamel that they are not obvious. Crowns are often the next step after a root canal, since a treated tooth becomes more brittle and needs protecting. The first appointment is short, around fifteen minutes, to prepare the tooth and take the measurements the crown is made from. We will talk through which material suits the tooth and your budget before anything starts.

~30 min

Veneers

Veneers are thin custom shells bonded to the front of your teeth to change their shape, color or alignment. They are the usual choice for front teeth that are chipped, worn, permanently stained or slightly uneven, where braces would be more than the situation needs. Composite veneers are built up directly on the tooth in the clinic, which keeps the appointment short at around thirty minutes. We talk through the shade and shape you want first, because veneers are a cosmetic decision and the result should look like your own smile rather than someone elses. Veneers suit some cases and not others, and we will tell you honestly which yours is.

15 min

Dentures (Complete & Partial)

Dentures replace missing teeth so you can eat and speak normally again, and many patients know them simply as pustiso. Complete dentures replace a full upper or lower arch, while partial dentures fill the gaps where some natural teeth remain. Fitting happens over a few short visits: measurements first, then fitting and small adjustments until the bite feels right and nothing rubs. Each appointment is usually around fifteen minutes. A new denture always feels bulky for the first week or two while your mouth adjusts, which is normal, and we would rather you came back for an adjustment than put up with a sore spot.

15–30 min

Orthodontic Treatment (Braces)

Orthodontic treatment moves teeth into better position gradually, using braces that are adjusted at regular intervals. Most people come in for crowding, gaps, or a bite that does not meet properly. Treatment starts with an assessment and x-rays so the roots can be seen and the movement planned, then the braces are fitted. After that you return every few weeks for an adjustment, which takes fifteen to thirty minutes, and those visits continue for the length of the plan. Braces are the longest commitment in the clinic, often a year or more, so the first consultation is spent making sure you know what the schedule and the cost look like before you start.

~30 min

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal saves a tooth whose nerve has been damaged by deep decay or injury, instead of taking the tooth out. The usual sign is pain that lingers after something hot or cold, or a tooth that aches on its own at night. We clean the infected tissue out from inside the root, disinfect the canal and seal it, which takes around thirty minutes per visit. The tooth stays in place and keeps doing its job. Because a treated tooth becomes more brittle over time, a crown is often recommended afterwards to protect it. Modern anesthesia means the appointment is far less uncomfortable than the reputation of the procedure suggests.

15 min

Digital X-rays (Panoramic, Cephalometric, TMJ, Peri-Apical)

Digital x-rays are taken here in the clinic, so there is no second trip to an imaging center and the results are on screen within moments. We take panoramic views that show the whole jaw in one image, cephalometric views used for orthodontic planning, TMJ views for the jaw joint, and peri-apical views that focus on a single tooth and its root. A panoramic x-ray is the usual starting point before wisdom tooth removal or braces, because it shows root position and anything sitting below the gumline. The appointment takes about fifteen minutes, and digital sensors need less radiation than the older film they replaced.
